What is it?

BOHAN is a full-service, multi-discipline, award-winning advertising and marketing agency that is one of the largest in Tennessee. It has clients in Nashville and across the country in several business sectors and has special credentials in tourism, health care, restaurants and consumer goods.

Who is it?

Approximately 60 delightful marketing professionals (and perhaps one cranky one) are the heart and soul of BOHAN. They verify agency Chairman and CEO David Bohan’s belief that Nashville truly is a center of creativity in advertising and marketing as much as in its hallmark industries of music and entertainment.

BOHAN has its own organizational system, which it calls brand villages. Rather than being in traditional agency silos (segregated departments of account service, media, research, creative), BOHAN employees work in brand villages populated by people from all disciplines. Brand villages live and breathe their clients’ work, proving daily that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Where is it?

BOHAN is in The Gulch, which gets its name from Nashville’s downtown railroad gulch. In fact, a switching locomotive often pulls within just a few feet of one entrance to the agency. The agency occupies a rehabilitated 1950s-vintage building with an Art Deco flair, high ceilings, exposed conduits and just the right atmosphere for stellar marketing work.

The Gulch has LEED for Neighborhood Development certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and is the first neighborhood in the South and only the 13th in the world with that certification.

When did BOHAN’s fun begin?

David Bohan founded the agency in 1990. Its first client, the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism, is on the client roster today, two decades later, a testimony to great work and an agency-client relationship that’s the envy of the industry.
