Belmont University

    Belmont University is a rapidly growing school in Nashville that is well-known for its business programs, particularly in the music business.
    Belmont had about 4,800 students in the fall of 2007, with a little more than 4,000 of those being undergraduates. The university announced in October 2009 that it would be starting a law school.

    Belmont has historical connections with the Southern Baptist Convention, but has broadened its base and now describes itself as a "Christian community."
     Belmont is one of several universities in the Nashville area, including Vanderbilt University, Tennessee State University, Fisk University, Middle Tennessee State University and David Lipscomb University.
