The City of Brentwood rejected a proposal in early 2010 to rezone the property to commercial  from residential. Some neighbors objected, citing safety concerns.

Developer Southeast Venture said a warehouse and small office park would have been buffered from nearby homes and traffic would move through Cool Springs rather than into residential areas.

As part of the proposal, landowner Tennsco would have donated 15 acress of land on Wikle Road West as a passive park.

Brentwood Flagpole Property

The "Flagpole" property is a 50-plus acre parcel of property along the west side of I-65 north of Cool Springs Mall. It is called the Flagpole property because of several flagpoles on the property that are visible from I-65.
