The Tennessee Christian Chamber of Commerce, centered in Nashville, is designed to provide a venue for those in Christian-based businesses to network and to be leaders in ethical business practices.
The Tennessee Christian Chamber of Commerce is non-denominational and founder Celeste La Reau told the Nashville Business Journal she wanted membership to include blue and white collar workers, managers and employees.
Traditional chambers of commerce are geographically based, such as the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce or the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber, but in recent years many chambers have been founded to serve members with other kinds of common interests, such as the Nashville Black Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
There is also a U.S. Christian Chamber of Commerce and Paul Northrup, chief steward of the organization, told the Business Journal in 2008 that there were about 15 Christian-based chambers in the country.
