A combination resume takes the aspects of the chronological and functional formats and puts them together. It typically gives dates and outlines accomplishments.
The goal of the combination resume is to give the reader what he or she wants to know, while raising expectations. It should be used when the other two types themselves don’t give you all the advantages you want.
A summary at the top is often used to tie together abilities and experience, followed by areas of expertise and then the employers’ names, your titles with dates. Work history can be a separate section of the resume following the section on accomplishments and skills.
This is a great layout for job seeker with a background which will enable him or her to switch to a position in a similar field. However, job seekers with all sorts of backgrounds can use the combination format.
