Father Ryan High School is a private, Catholic high school located in Davidson county, off of Franklin Road, near the intersection of Franklin and Harding Roads. Roughly 1,100 coed students, grades 9-12, attend the school. Faculty are comprised of priests and lay men and women who are typically members of the Nashville Catholic Community. Father Ryan's curriculum is like that of any other college preparatory school, except that students are additionally required to take a class in religion each semester, and students and faculty engage in prayer during school assemblies and events. There are many sports and extra curricular activities available to students at Father Ryan. They include: football, wrestling, baseball, softball, volleyball, cheerleading, men's and women's track and field, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis, golf, drama, band, drumline, and many others.
