Nashville Public Library
Nashville's public library system, founded in 1898, has branches all over Metro Nashville-Davidson County, but its centerpiece is the magnificent main library downtown.

The downtown structure, completed in 2001, was built in a modern classical style and features 300,000 square feet of space. Aside from its regular collections of books, periodicals and other materials, the library also boasts several special collections. These include the Civil Rights Oral History project, the Veterans History project and the Nashville Banner archives.
The library also has branches at 20 other locations.
