Nashville Zoo

The Nashville Zoo, located in the Grassmere section of Nashville, is home to animals from around the world, including African elephants, red pandas and Begal tigers.

The zoo also features the largest community-built playground in the United States, called the Jungle Gym, and the Grassmere Historic House and Farm, which provides a glimpse into farm life during the 1880s.

Nashville Zoo Executive Director Richard "Rick" Schwartz is nationally respected for his work with clouded leopards. Recently, the zoo saw the birth of clouded leopard cubs, a rarity for the zoo world.

The zoo is a non-profit organization that receives no operating funds from Metro Nashville government.
