Radnor Lake

Radnor Lake State Park is a favorite hiking spot in Southwest Nashville. Trails wind around the lake that forms the centerpiece of the park. There are paved trails, mulched trails and smaller more rustic hiking trails.  They range from easy to difficult terrain.  Leashed dogs are allowed in the park.

Radnor Lake is open from 6 a.m. until dark. There is no admission fee. Hours for the visitors center: Sunday-Thursday: 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Closed Noon-1 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The visitors center has a help desk, several non-venomous snakes in cages, some life sized stuffed animals, brochures, and trail maps - including a small model of the entire park showing the lake and elevation changes of the various trails throughout the hills.  The park can be accessed from Otter Creek Road off of Granny White Pike or Otter Creek Road off of Franklin Pike.  The visitors center is located on the western (Granny White Pike entrance) side.

Tip: On many nice weekend days, the parking areas are not sufficient for the number of cars.  Immanuel Church on the corner of Granny White & Otter Creek welcomes Radnor Lake visitors to park in their parking lot (as well as join in their worship for service.)
Tip: Running is not allowed.  This rule is enforced and there is a $196 fine!
Tip: There is no swimming or boating allowed in the lake.  If you are looking for these activities please see our Lakes And Rivers page.
