Downtown River Front Park

The downtown Nashville River Front Park is located on the west side of the Cumberland River across from LP Field where the Tennessee Titans play.  There is a large paved area up top, with a turnaround and some benches, and a tiered grassy slope (perfect place for crowds to gather to watch performances) that goes all the way down to the concrete landing next to the water.

There are many events held at the River Front Park including events that are held on the river such as the yearly dragon boat festival.  Some other events that have been or will be held on the river in front of the river front park are the Red Bull Flugtag competition as well as the Thunder on the River boat race.  Typically when there are large concerts, the performances are played on a stage that is a built on a barge and floating on the river in front of the park.  There used to be a lot more of these performances than there are now.  Some might remember "Dancing in the District" or "River Stages."

Some of the events that can be regularly found at the River Front Park are "Wine on the River," the 4th of July Fireworks show, and many concerts and festivals throughout the year.

The historic Fort Nashborough is also located on the north side of River Front Park and is an interesting relic to check out.  There is a dock on the south end where boaters stop and go explore downtown.  Boats can be tied up for up to 5 days at a time, however there are NO facilities.  There is no nearby place to access riverfront park by boat.  If coming from the Old Hickory Lake side, one most go through the locks.  Coming from the west, is probably the best option putting in in the west Nashville launch ramp.
