Sylvan Park

Sylvan Park is a neighborhood on the west side of Nashville that is generally south of I-40 and west of I-440, although like all Nashville neighborhoods, it has no official boundaries. A main thoroughfare is Murphy Road, which terminates on the west at McCabe Park. Many of the streets in the neighborhood are named after states, such as Wyoming and Idaho.

Many of the homes in the area are bungalow style, others are in the Cape Cod style.

Public school students in the neighborhood are generally zoned to attend Sylvan Park Paideia Design Center for grades K-4; West End Middle School  for  grades 5-8 and Hillsboro High School for grades 9-12.

The Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association addresses neighborhood issues such as zoning, security, beautification, traffic, metropolitan services, and environment. The group meets on the second Monday of each month at 7pm in the Senior Renaissance Center of Cohn School, located at the corner of Park Avenue and 48th Avenue North.

This is a map of the neighborhood that was produced by the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association.

Sylvan Park is also a great place to take your kids trick or treating! We hand out candy there every year, and see soooo many cute costumes!!! The houses are close together, and the neighborhood has a safe, friendly, festive vibe - perfect for trick or treating families! :)
