Tim’s Ford Lake
Tim’s Ford Lake is located about 75 miles southeast of Nashville at Winchester, Tenn., and features Tim’s Ford State Park, which is on its banks. It offers opportunities for boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, picnicking, hiking and biking.
Tims Ford has a Recreation Hall with two meeting rooms available for rent. Tim’s Ford state park features 20 cabins for rent. A marina on the lake offers boats for rent as well as boating and fishing supplies.
Tims Ford State Park offers a 52 site campground, with water and electric (30 amp service) at each site, and a dumping station available at the entrance to the campground. The lakeside picnic area has 50 individual tables and grills, plus two picnic shelters with fireplace, grill and numerous tables. Restrooms and a playfield are located nearby.
An L-shaped swimming pool at Tims Ford State Park features a 12-foot diving pool, children's wading pool and a bathhouse. Lifeguards are on duty during swimming hours. The pool is open from Memorial Day to mid-August.
Tim’s Ford Lake, which was created by the damming of the Elk River, covers 10,700 acres.
The lake is considered a prime spot for bass fishing.
Archaeological excavations have uncovered numerous artifacts and occupational sites, indicating that man had occupied the area as much as 10,000 to 12,000 years ago.
Vacation homes and other residential real estate are situated convenient to Tim’s Ford Lake.
