Wilson County Fair

The Wilson County Fair is a huge event held annually in Lebanon, the county seat of Wilson County, which is just east of Metro Nashville-Davidson County. It eclipses the State Fair in size and prominence.
The Fair, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2008, is typically held in August. The 2008 Fair had a theme of "Homespun Family Fun" and was expected to draw around 400,000 people. Organizers said attendance was helped by high gas prices, which drew people to attractions close to home rather than taking a vacation that required lots of driving.

The Fair includes traditional agricultural exhibits along with food contests, races, talent shows, concerts and a Demolition Derby.
